Odyssey of the Mind teams headed to Worlds!

The NYS champion Odyssey of Mind teams from Monhagen Middle School and Presidential Park Elementary School participated in the 2023 World Finals from May 24-27 at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich. Monhagen finished seventh.

Following the opening ceremonies at 7 p.m. on May 24 at the Breslin Event Center, Monhagen competed  with its long-term problem on May 25 - and then did "spontaneous" at 10 a.m. on May 26  at Michigan State. Presidential Park competed with its long-term problem at 11:27 a.m. on May 26, and "spontaneous" at 3:22 p.m. on May 27. The closing ceremonies were held on May 27.

Presidential Park is coached by Julie Nolan and Mildred Silva, with team members Julianna Galdamez, Kamila Chilito, Julia Grogan, Avarie Jones, Nafisha Uddin and Lauren Geoghegan. Monhagen is coached by April Moran and Sharleigh Carter, with team members Alexa Ocasio, Addison Strenfel, Heather Checo, Jailene Rivera, Addison Burger, Norah Cardinal and Jailynn Harmon.
