During April, Twin Towers scholars participated in a reading challenge entitled, “Reading around the World.” Scholars read and logged their pages, with each page equated to one mile. Each week we would "travel" to a different location equal to the amount of miles logged.
We then highlighted the place we visited on our morning announcements. We visited places like Chile and New Delhi. We selected the top 10 scholars in each grade and invited them to the breakfast of readers on May 10, where many were joined by family members. Some of these scholars read more than 1,500 pages.
