Middletown receives gift as "thank you"

Minisink M

Middletown Superintendent Amy Creeden (right), Athletic Director David Coates (center) and Board of Education President Rose Tobiassen (left) hold a gift created by Minisink Valley senior Austin Gurda, given in appreciation for Middletown donating an old pole vault pit and base to Minisink Valley's track program.

Austin designed and created the wooden logo, which beautifully captures our name and logo. Middletown replaced its pole vault pit and base, so it didn't need the equipment. We will share this logo with our community when it hangs within the high school.

This is a continuation of our relationship with Minisink Valley, as in recent years, Minisink Valley allowed Middletown to use its pool during our construction - and Minisink Valley used ours prior during its construction.

Thank you, Austin, his technology teacher Christopher Tuthill, as well as the Minisink Valley administration and Board of Education.
