  • The Enlarged City School District of Middletown is located in Orange County, about 65 miles northwest of New York City. Middletown is part of the Hudson Valley region, near the Wallkill River, and the district covers all of the City of Middletown, as well as portions of the towns of Wallkill, Wawayanda, and Goshen.

    Attractions
    Middletown is home to the historic Paramount Theatre, Thrall Library and SUNY Orange. Skiing, golf, tennis and swimming, as well as opportunities for hiking, biking and country drives, are all nearby, as is the Galleria mall at Crystal Run. In addition, Orange Regional Medical Center is found in the area, along with the Times Herald-Record—an award-winning newspaper. The Middletown area also is home to the Orange County Fair each summer.

    Transportation
    Orange County contains a network of major highways. Noteworthy, is the triangle formed by Route 17, the New York State Thruway, and Interstate 84. In addition, rail and bus commuter services provide transportation to the metropolitan area and passenger services are available via major airlines from Stewart International Airport, located in Newburgh, New York.
