Upcoming midterm and NYS Regents examinations will lead to schedule adjustments for all Middletown High School scholars.

MHS will be on a block schedule from Tuesday, January 13, through Thursday, January 15, because of midterm exams, with dismissal beginning at 1 p.m. The periods will run from 7:35 a.m.-9:20 a.m., 9:25 a.m.-11:10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m.

Each day will run as follows:

• January 13: Periods 1y, 5y and 8x
• January 14: Periods 2x, 4x and 7y
• January 15: Periods 3y, 6x and 9y

NYS Regents examinations will be administered from Tuesday, January 20, through Friday, January 23. During these four days, scholars only need to attend MHS on the days and times when they have Regents exams. BOCES scholars will attend OU-BOCES during Regents week, unless they are scheduled to take a Regents exam.

Each day will run as follows:

• January 20: English Language Arts (8 a.m.), Life Science: Biology Living Environment (12 p.m.), Physical Setting/Chemistry
• January 21: Geometry (8 a.m.), U.S. History and Government (8 a.m.), Algebra I (12 p.m.), Physical Setting/Physics (12 p.m.)
• January 22: Global History and Geography II (8 a.m.), Algebra II (12 p.m.)
• January 23: Earth and Space Sciences (8 a.m.), Physical Setting/Earth Science (8 a.m.)

There will be transportation to and from the high school on these testing days.
