Sidewalk repairs impacting Wickham/Wisner intersection
Dear Twin Towers Middle School and High School Middies!
We want to inform you about an important construction project taking place as part of the City of Middletown’s health, safety, and beautification efforts. You may have noticed crews working throughout the summer on improving sidewalks throughout Middletown. This includes the sidewalks at the corner of the heavily traveled Wickham Avenue and Wisner Avenue.
Please be aware that there might be some disruptions for walkers, particularly around the start of the school year, which is Wednesday, September 4. The sidewalk improvements at the corner of Wickham Avenue and Wisner Avenue will not be completed by the first day of school. We encourage families to plan alternative routes to ensure a smooth and safe journey to school, and to drive with caution in these areas that our young people must still navigate.
There will be crossing guards at this intersection, and we ask you please obey their instructions. We are thrilled that the City of Middletown is investing in such valuable upgrades and are grateful for your patience and understanding as the work progresses. Your support helps us create a better, safer, and more beautiful community for everyone - and our young people are its most precious commodity.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Warm regards,
Amy Creeden, Superintendent of Schools
