Scholars Amaze at the Coding Competition

A girls stands next to the program she coded

On Wednesday, December 4, scholars put their computer science skills to the test in the Coding Competition. Scholars in grades 3-12 were invited to create an original code that could perform an automated task. In other words, the code had to achieve a specific outcome with as little human interaction as possible.

Scholars created codes that came in the form of games and functional tools. They were graded on the originality of their code, their reasoning for their selection of coding language, how they overcame issues and refined their project, their understanding of how the code affected the end product, and the code's purpose. It was a great display of ingenuity and creativity from our scholars that could be a sign of the incredible things they will do in the future!

Thank you to the tech instructors, Girls Who Code, coding clubs, Instructional Leaders, and Tech TOSAs who supported this event. Congratulations to all the participants!
