Monday update: The Middletown High School team placed 17th and Monhagen Middle School 32nd in their respective categories, capping off a terrific experience

Our qualifying Odyssey of the Mind teams are on the road to the World finals - literally.

The bus left Monday with our Middletown High School and Monhagen Middle School teams, making the 18-hour trip that culminates with competing on May 27-30 at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

MHS comes in as the New York State champion. Monhagen finished fourth, and received an invitation. Both teams received clap-out send offs on Friday within their buildings.

The MHS team is coached by Stephanie Sears, with team members Norah Cardinal, Jailynn Harmon, Addison Burger, Kim Peralta Becker, Danelli Polanco Rojas, Emma Vermillion and Ella Wardell.

Monhagen is coached by Haley Hershenson and Natalie Fermanian, with team members Gabriel Chen, Sophia Castrejon, Rylan Decker, Aven Fana, Diljot Kang, London Lewis, Ayden Reyes.
