Museum of Tolerance Visits Middle Schools

Scholars in both Twin Towers and Monhagen Middle Schools had the opportunity to take part in a meaningful learning experience with the Mobile Museum of Tolerance.

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance is a bus with video screens and seats large enough for a standard-sized class. Scholars from Twin Towers' Global 9 Honors and 7th Grade Accelerated Social Studies classes and Monhagen's 6th Grade and Civics classes were able to visit the bus parked right outside of their schools. Through interactive workshops, they explored the history of the Holocaust while engaging in thoughtful conversations about identity, responsibility, empathy, and the impact of human choices.

Scholars reflected on how ordinary people and everyday decisions can influence the course of history, both in moments of injustice and in moments of courage. The workshops challenged scholars to consider how the lessons of the past connect to their own lives today, as classmates, community members, leaders, and citizens.
