Middletown Awarded for School Safety Excellence
The Enlarged City School District of Middletown has earned the 2024 Utica National’s School Safety Excellence Award, which is given annually and recognizes a district’s safety efforts as it works to help keep students, staff and visitors safe.
Middletown officials recently accepted this award at Utica National’s 42nd annual school safety seminar. There are three levels of awards. Middletown received the Titanium-level, which is the highest, by meeting specific criteria to enhance overall safety. Categories covered include bullying prevention programs, playground safety and other areas, and are measured using specific quantifiable surveys.
“Safety and health concerns continue to be a priority in our school districts,” Utica National’s Educational Institutions Unit Senior Vice President Brian Sayville said. “Districts that go “above and beyond” to provide a safe, healthy and focused culture for learning are to be applauded, and we’re pleased to count Middletown among them.”
