City of Middletown residents were treated to three different performance groups as the city's summer concert series kicked off with concerts on May 30-31.

The district's Mariachi group, comprised mostly of middle school and high school scholars, opened the Run For Downtown Park series on May 30 with a nice set in front of an appreciative crowd. They were followed by the high school's Jazz Band, which also did a great job.

On May 31, the high school's Modern Band performed at Degnan Square, beginning the schedule of summer shows in the city's premiere outdoor location.
