Anthony Russo threw a touchdown pass and ran for another touchdown as Middletown clinched a Section 9 Class AA playoff spot with a 27-13 home victory Friday over Valley Central on Homecoming Night at Faller Field.
Russo connected with Aiden Barbosa on a 30-yard touchdown pass in the first half, and then closed out the Middies' scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run with about six minutes left. Javion Roldan added a 44-yard touchdown run and Julani Graham a 1-yard touchdown run for the Middies.
