MHS Scholars Achieve Academic Growth and Student Leadership in Learning Awards

At the April 18, 2024 Board of Education meeting, four Middletown High School scholars were recognized by the Mid-Husdon School Study Council with awards for Academic Growth and Student Leadership in Learning. The award is presented to high school juniors who have consistently pursued a high level of academic effort and who have served as positive student role models for the student body. Congratulations to Jayden Everton Walker Jr., Stephanie Alvarez Isaza, Yadiel Santiago Pabon, and Luzdary Medina-Quizhpe! Learn more about these scholars below.

Jayden Everton Walker Jr.

Jayden is a junior at Middletown High School and is currently pursuing an Engineering pathway through our NAF academy. He is a member of the Video Game Club and Chess Club and most recently was in the MHS production of SpongeBob the Musical.  He is a talented artist, involved with his community, and loves being part of MHS. He is looking forward to attending college where he plans to major in Civil Engineering. He can’t wait to participate in Experience Our Programs and has participated the last few years. He received High Honor Roll for the past three years at Middletown and continues to excel in his classes.

Stephanie Alvarez Isaza

Stephanie is also a junior at MHS. She is an example for others, taking on several leadership roles at MHS. She is the treasurer of the Diversity Club, a member of the Key Club, and is described by her peers as someone that goes above and beyond for others. She regularly participates in Experience Our Programs and Multicultural Night. Stephanie shared that one of her greatest accomplishments is receiving 100% in Mathematics. She is currently taking two college courses, SUPA biology and SUPA US History.

Yadiel Santiago Pabon

Yadiel is a junior and is the oldest child in his house. He strives to be a role model for his younger siblings. Yadiel excels here at MHS and has achieved High Honor Roll. He also attends BOCES and is enrolled in their electrical program, earning a GPA of 97%. Yadiel likes to box for fun and he plans to attend college for Engineering. Yadiel is bilingual and also supports his classmates by using his talent. Yadiel will be attending college for Engineering after High School. 

Luzdary Medina Quizphe

Luzdary is an outstanding student who has a 94% GPA and was invited to participate in Middletown’s National Honor Society. She attends BOCES and is excelling in her cosmetology program. She plans to attend college after high school, possibly pursuing a career in cosmetology. She is an avid reader and loves to work out in her spare time. She is a leader among her peers, consistently modeling the epitome of a legacy maker. We are so proud of the work she does every day here at MHS, and her teachers agree she is so deserving of this award.
