"Little Free Library" Opens at Maple Hill

The Little Free Library filled with books

Maple Hill's Little Free Library had a grand opening on June 7!

The third-grade classes of Maple Hill were given the challenge of becoming "Agents of Change". What can we do to create a positive change in our community? The answer was to develop a library box outside of the school where all children in the community could pick up and drop off books at any time.

Custodian Chris Abreu and maintenance worker Glen Brinckerhoff donated their free time and skills to build a beautiful custom library box. The third-grade class gathered books for donation and their combined efforts resulted in more books than the box can currently hold! The Little Free Library will be replenished with the surplus books over time. All community members are encouraged to take advantage of this new addition at Maple Hill, especially over the summertime, especially since Middies Love to Read! We hope to see everyone come by the Little Free Library.
