Large Turnout at October WEdnesday Family Night

The first WEdnesday Family Night of the 2024-25 school year was held on October 16 at Presidential Park Elementary School. WEdnesday Family Night is a regular ECSDM event with informational sessions important to K-12 families, while also offering the opportunity to mingle with other families, teachers, and administrators.

The cafeteria was filled with dozens of families looking to receive information on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the English Language Learners (ELL) Parent Bill of Rights, and Students with Disabilities (SWD) Parent Procedural Safeguards.

While families listened to the presentations, they and their children could enjoy a variety of pizzas and salads made fresh by the Food Services department. They also perused the informational tables set up by members of the Human Resources department, Health Services, and more. There was even an appearance of the Tooth Fairy to show scholars the best way to brush their teeth. Sensory activities and games could be found in the Media Center, and books were available to take home in the cafeteria. Also in the cafeteria was a display of multiple Presidential Park class projects for Hispanic Heritage Month.
