Community Input Requested: Middletown Community Campus

An aerial shot of Fei Tian College at the Middletown Community Campus

The Middletown Community Campus (MCC) is the former Middletown Psychiatric Center, a New York State Homeopathic Asylum.

Today the campus is home to Fei Tian College - Northern Campus, the college preparatory school Northern Academy, and other public and private entities including social service agencies, nonprofits, and small businesses. Many sites on the campus remain vacant and underutilized.

The City of Middletown was awarded a Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) planning grant from the New York State Department of State for $250,772.

The grant funds a community-driven plan for the 220-acre site at the campus. The project's intended outcomes include the development of a plan that provides for an area-wide plan and potential reuse approaches for multiple historical buildings as well as other blighted and potential brownfield sites. The BOA Plan will build upon recent public and private investment and revitalization.
