Branson retires

Our friend, Branson, a therapy dog who has been in a fixture in our district for the last few years, has put in his retirement papers.

Branson's last visit came Friday at the Maple Hill Annex at Truman Moon, where he has spent most of his time. After spending the morning in classrooms, he was the guest of honor for a parade around the building - so our young people could give him their final pets.

Branson made a total of 506 career visits as a therapy dog, including 92 in the Middletown school district. He spent the most time at the Maple Hill Annex as Truman Moon (72), following by Monhagen (12), Middletown High School (7) and Maple Hill (1).

Thanks to Mrs. Stampone, Branson's "sister" and Monhagen guidance counselor, for the information.
