Code Of Conduct

Dignity for All Students Act (DASA)

District Wide School Safety Plan 2022-2023
The District developed the District Wide Safety Plan to address critical issues such as emergencies, accidents, and violent incidents faced by the District. This document is reviewed, then presented for public comment before it is accepted by the Board of Education.

Education Law 2-d and Part 121
Education Law section 2-d and Part 121 focus on the privacy and data security of personally identifiable information (PII) of students, teachers, and principals. It is required that the Parents' Bill of Rights for Data Privacy and Security and supplemental third-party contractor agreements preserving privacy are adopted and posted on the district website.

Families Educational Right and Privacy Act (FERPA)
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records. These rights transfer to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level. Students to whom the rights are transferred are "eligible students."

Parents Bill of Rights for Data Privacy and Security
The District is committed to protecting the privacy and security of student, teacher, and principal data. In accordance with the New York State Education Law Section 2-d, the Parent's Bill of Rights for Data Privacy and Security is posted for review.

Third Party Vendor Agreements
As part of NYSED Law 2-d Part 121, the District is required to post third-party contractors' agreement with the District to ensure student, teacher, and principal data is protected on their systems.
