Students honor
grandparents
MAY 2004—Truman students honored their
grandparents by celebrating Grandparents' Day on May 23,
2004. Students
from each class sang songs dedicated to their
grandparents, and family & friends were also invited to
attend the festivities that proved to be a big hit! |

Earth Day
reminds students to reduce, reuse and recycle
APRIL 2004—
Students celebrated Earth Day by discussing ways to keep
the earth clean and beautiful again this year at Truman
Moon. The hope is that everyone will remember
to throw trash in trash cans and not on the ground so
everyone can live in a clean and beautiful Middletown. |
Students 'Read Aloud'
for fun
APRIL 2004—Several Truman Moon
students participated in the BOCES Read Aloud event held
in Goshen, NY. Students taking part in the
event chose a four minute passage from a book and read
it aloud to an audience made up of local students and
administration. The Read Aloud highlights the value of
reading for fun and success throughout life. |
Dr.
Seuss' birthday celebrated by school staff and students
MARCH 2004— Students
celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2, 2004. Some
Dr. Seuss favorites included: Oh, the places you'll
go, The Foot Book, Hop on Pop, The Cat in the Hat,
and Sam I Am! Visit the library and check out a

Truman Moon holds
seventh annual Dance Program
MARCH 2004—Truman Moon students
and staff piled into the gymnasium in March 2004 to take part
in the seventh annual
Dance Program,
organized by Frank Lentino, Mitchell
Walker and Kristen
Patrick.Two sessions of the
program were held, one in the morning and another in the
afternoon, so that
all students could participate in the event.
Students from each
class performed a dance for the group, and staff members
were also invited to join in. Students performed such
dances as: the hokey pokey; the conga; the alley cat;
the Virginia
Reel; the electric slide; the chicken dance; the Mexican hat dance;
the Macarena; and
the YMCA.
Four staff members,
dressed in
sunglasses and Hawaiian shirts, also did a dance for
students to the song "Singing
in the Rain."
