The
health office has a school nurse who can be
contacted at
(845) 346-4808. The following are some of the features of the
Health Program carried out during the year:
l
If a student becomes ill
in school, he/she must get a pass from the subject
teacher before reporting to the health office. Students
will NOT be permitted to leave school unless they have
been seen by the school nurse and are picked up by a
parent or other responsible adult authorized by the
parent.
l
Any injury should be
reported to the school nurse immediately where an
accident report will be completed.
l
If a student requires
medication during the school day, the medication must be
delivered by the parent/guardian. A form completed by
the physician and the parent authorizing the school
nurse to dispense this medication must be submitted with
the medication.
l
If a student is unable to
participate in physical education because of a medical
reason, you must have a pass from the school nurse.
l
As a procedure, the school
will ask parents to keep their children home from school
if they show any signs of significant infections. If
your child has a fever above 100 degrees orally, he/she
should NOT return to school until his/her temperature
has been in a normal range for the preceding 24 hours.
Please have any child with a rash or eye inflammation
checked by your health care provider to determine
whether or not it is contagious.
