Monhagen Middle School is organized around clusters. A cluster consists of a team of teachers who work with a group of approximately 115 students. Each team teaches English, math, science and social studies. At the sixth grade level, the team includes a reading/study skills teacher. At the seventh grade level, this team includes a home and career skills teacher for one semester and a technology teacher for the other semester. In eighth grade, the team includes a health teacher for one semester and a technology teacher for the other semester. Click here for homework hotlines.

The main purpose of the cluster is to:

l Provide reinforcement among the disciplines (reading, writing and study skills) that are common to each discipline and are fundamental to students success.

l Reinforce skills, concepts or content from one discipline that must be mastered in order to master skills, concepts or content in another discipline.

l Utilize projects or themes to draw upon the skills or content of various disciplines.
