“The College and Career Center has helped me every year of my high school career. It has helped me in the college process immensely – from discovering what I wanted in a college, to how to write an application essay, to actually applying. It absolutely made the process less stressful, and therefore, I was able to be excited about the process. I have been able to meet will college representatives, go to college fairs and even go to visit colleges. It has helped my parents with seminars on financial aid. Students faced with the task of deciding what to do after high school are often confused and overwhelmed. The College and Career Center at Middletown High School works closely with the guidance department to help students and their parents understand the college admissions process, maximizing students' chances of being accepted at their school of choice.
While at the Center, students can use Bridges software, a web-based college and career planning program, or browse through various college catalogs, brochures, books, and videos. Students can also schedule a time to meet with college admission reps throughout the school year to discuss everything from academic and athletic programs offered to clubs and campus activities.
Lisa Parker (326-1611) and Laura Brissing (326-1793), College and Career Center advisors, are available to meet with high school students to discuss career and college opportunities and search strategies. To make an appointment, stop by the College and Career Center or call them.
