School Identification Status

Maple Hill Elementary School has been identified by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a School in Need of Corrective Action (Year 1) for English Language Arts (ELA) in the area of special education for the 2009-2010 school year.

Together with central office personnel, the faculty and staff at Maple Hill are working to improve the academic achievement of all students. We analyze our assessment data to identify specific gaps in student learning and determine instructional strategies to close those gaps. We are conducting staff development activities focused on best instructional strategies for literacy, and will be providing extended time for student learning through our Extended Day Institute (EDI) for ELA as well as our Summer School Program.

For further information regarding the NYSED's accountability process and/or Supplemental Education Services, please contact Principal Dominick Radogna at (845) 326-1741.
