The
GED examination is administered over two days.
Part One of the exam is given on Friday evening from 5–9:30 p.m. The exam is held at Middletown High School.
Registration begins promptly at 5 p.m. on Friday
evening. No Saturday registrations are allowed. To
register, you must file an application with the Chief
Examiner four to six weeks prior to the test date.
To
obtain an application, the candidate may visit the main
lobby of Middletown High School or he/she may download
one by
clicking here. When the application is
received, a postcard will be sent with the date of the
exam and other instructions. To enter into the
examination, the candidate must have two forms of ID. A
PHOTO ID IS MANDATORY!
Part Two of the exam occurs on
Saturday from 7:30 a.m.–12:05 p.m. During bad weather,
listen to WALL 1340AM or WRRV 92.7 or watch Channel 20 for
updates on cancellations or postponements.
Any candidate who is 19 years of age or older may take
the GED exam. If the candidate is under 19 years of
age, proof of eligibility must be provided.
The GED examination is also given in Spanish on all of
the above dates. The Spanish version contains an
additional exam, so the completion time on Saturday is
about 2 p.m.
Modified testing for candidates with NYSED approved
modifications will be scheduled by appointment only.
