All about Arts in Education in our schools

Arts in Education (AIE) is just one of the many ways Middletown is helping to raise student achievement and narrow the gap in student performance. As part of AIE students get the chance to participate in age-appropriate arts activities and programs with professional artists, which are all integrated into our curriculum and linked to specific New York State standards.

To bring qualified and professional artists to our schools, Middletown has been teaming up with Betsy DuBois and the Betsy DuBois Agency since the spring of 2006. DuBois, A 14 year veteran of AIE and founder of the Agency, represents a variety of AIE artists and programs. Click here to view some AIE artist bios!

"By working with professional artists and writers, students not only learn to appreciate all art forms, they also improve their ability to analyze, create, reflect, and comprehend," said DuBois.

All Middletown schools offer a variety of AIE programming throughout the school year.
