Animal Riddles-"I have wings but I'm not a bird." "I can breathe through a hole in the top of my head." This colorful site provides Who-am-I riddles, the type that have young learners using clues to figure out what kind of animal is being described. Simple language and bright illustrations make this a great site for English language learners (Grades Pre-K-5).

BBC ReviseWise-This Web site, from the BBC, offers interactive lessons, activities, and quizzes on English, math, and science topics (Grades K-6).

BBC Schools-This Web site offers interactive learning activities in all subjects for grades Pre-K-6.

Brain Bashers-A collection of brain teasers, games and optical illusions.

BrainPop-Educational animated movies for grades K-12.  Topics covered are math, science, social studies, health, technology, and English.  Each topic has several FREE movies that you can watch.  Contact E2T2 for username information.

Cabela's Iditarod Trail Race Coverage-At this site, you can access updated information on the trial and current standings.  There is also information about the history of the race, the current trail, rules of the race, weather information, and a profile on each dog (Grades 2-12).

CircusWorks-Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® is proud to present CIRCUSWORKS®, a unique educational site that connects the wonders of the circus to curriculums. Throughout the year your students will look forward to these varied learning activities. CIRCUSWORKS lessons are fun-filled, teacher-friendly, easy to use, and provide three levels of learning: preschool, primary, and intermediate. All users must sign up for a free membership to have access to all of the lessons and PDF sheets.

Ed Helper-Teacher resources for all content areas.  Web site features: daily writing prompts; daily open-ended science questions; worksheets; literature units; reading comprehension activities; phonics activities; spelling activities; and much more (K-12).

Star graphic.Education Place- A comprehensive Web site produced by Houghton Mifflin School Division with more than 18,000 pages of engaging content to explore. Visitors can delve further into reading/language arts; mathematics; social studies; and science, and there are resources that are aligned to: state standards; monthly themes; graphic organizers; cloze activities;brain teasers, proofreading activities; geography activities related to the six essential elements from the National Geography Standards; and more. 

Enchanted Learning-A children's educational Web site, which is designed to capture the imagination while maximizing creativity, learning, and enjoyment.  This sit features research information on a variety of topics, including: quizzes: craft ideas; activity calendars;writing prompts; graphic organizers; and mush more (2-5).

Exploratorium- The Exploratorium is a museum of science, art, and human perception located in San Francisco, California.  Their Web site explores hundreds of different topics including solar eclipses, sports, language, and much more. 

Explore-This Web project provides "four to eXplore" for each topic. On each page you'll find definitions; activities; four good starting points; and many more links and resources for the thematic topic. Web site highlight:technology-enriched lesson plans for all content areas, including Fine Arts (3-12). 

Discovery Channel School-Discovery Channel School is dedicated to making teaching and learning an exciting, rewarding adventure for students, teachers, and parents. To that end, this Web site provides innovative teaching materials for teachers, useful and enjoyable resources for students, and smart advice for parents about how to help their kids enjoy learning and excel in school. Some of our favorite sections are the curriculum center, brain booster, and puzzlemaker.

How Stuff Works!- HowStuffWorks Express is a monthly magazine published by HowStuffWorks Inc. during the school year. The magazine integrates science, math, reading, and technology in one cool and exciting package. With full access to the magazine's feature articles; Webquests; biographies; toy autopsies; and games online, this site is a must for teachers and students alike (Grades 2-8).

The Iditarod Trail Dog Sled Race-It’s unlike any other event in the world. A race over 1,150 miles of the most extreme and beautiful terrain known to manacross mountain ranges; frozen rivers; dense forests; desolate tundra; and windswept coastline. Add sub-zero temperatures and blinding winds, and you’ve got the makings of a legendary adventure. That’s the Iditarod (Grades 2-12).

I Know That-Online activities that encourage learning and exploration.  Topics include: The Arts; Science; Social Studies; Language Arts; and Engineering. There is a teacher guide that provides standards-related learning objectives by grade for each of the activities available on the Web site. 

Inspiration & Kidspiration-Inspiration and Kidspiration are software titles that help students to think, write, and comprehend visually and organize writing.  This Web site offers ideas for integrating Inspiration and Kidspiration into your classroom and gives examples of what other teachers are using to inspire students. There is also a section that is designed to demonstrate the many ways Kidspiration® and Inspiration® supports New York State Learning standards and gives educators ideas for using these tools to meet learning goals across the curriculum.

Interactive Reading Pages-On TV411’s interactive Reading pages, students get practical practice in Finding Faulty Logic, Reading Charts and Graphs, Reading Maps, Scanning for Specifics, Summarizing and Using Context Clues.

I4C–Internet 4 Kids provides links for K-12 teachers. There is a SMART Board section.

Kids.Gov-Welcome to the U.S. government interagency Kids' Portal. This site provides links to Federal kids' sites along with some of the best kids' sites from other organizations all grouped by subject (K-8).

Thinkfinity-Internet Content for the Classroom is a nonprofit consortium of premier national and international education organizations and the MCI Foundation dedicated to providing the highest quality Internet content and professional development to teachers and students throughout the United States. Web site highlights: lesson plans; interactive content; worksheets; and more.

McGruff the Crime Dog-McGruff the Crime Dog, and mascot of the National Crime Prevention Council, is interested in helping you "take a bite out of crime." Students can color; read comic strips; play lots of terrific games; and get great safety tips from McGruff! There is also a special section for adults to clue them in on safety subjects for their kids. 

National Geographic Kids- National Geographic for Kids is a comprehensive Web site with new articles; research resources; games; activities; experiments; and homework help.  Also included in this site is an education guide.  This guide has resources for teachers and parents, all in an effort to make students geographically literate (3-12).

New York Times–Daily Lesson Plan-An excellent resource for middle and high school students. Lesson plans are created daily using the newspaper for current events. Academic standards are listed as well as overviews, activities, procedures and resources needed.

NickJr-Click on play where you will find read along stories, phonics activities, and Dora's interactive food pyramid, to name a few, interactive games that go along with the TV shows from the Nickelodeon channel (K-2).

Panoramas of the World-Students will enjoy geography when they can actually step into a "panorama" of the place they are visiting. Visitors actually feel as if they are in the most exciting, beautiful, historic, and remote parts of the earth through these panoramas. Panoramas include places including: the Moon; Mars; Mt. Everest; the Taj Mahal; Colorado River; Rock of Gibralter; the Gates in Central Park; and the Eiffel Tower, but students can also search for specific countries or places in the news. What a great way for students to take a virtual field trip.

PBS Kids-This Web site comes from the PBS television network and highlights many of their children's programming with educational activities for young children (Pre-K-2).

PBS Kids:CyberChase-CyberChase is from PBS kids and offers critical thinking games to challenge kids.

PBS Teacher Source-PBS Teacher Source has lesson plans and activities that are searchable by subject and grade level. 

Primary Games-Online activities in all subject areas for the primary level. Topics covered include: English Language Arts (ELA); math; science; and social studies.  Each subject area has a curriculum guide that allows you to view a list of activities correlated to a topic and appropriate grade level (K-4).

Reading is Fundamental–Poetry Splatter-Writing poems has never been so much fun. Using Poetry Splatter is easy. Students simply choose a poem title from a list. When they see their poem frame, they fill in the blanks with words that are spattered onto the screen.

Star graphic.ReadWriteThink-A Web site that has a partnership between the International Reading Association (IRA), the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and the MarcoPolo Education Foundation.  ReadWriteThink offers a wide array of standards-based lesson plans that meaningfully integrate Internet content into the teaching and/or learning experience.  An important component of ReadWriteThink is the collection of Web resources. These resources are selected in adherence to a rigorous set of criteria and are thoroughly reviewed by a ReadWriteThink Review Panel.  ReadWriteThink offers a collection of online student materials to support literacy learning in K-12 classrooms. These interactive tools can be used to supplement a variety of lessons and provide an opportunity for students to use technology while developing their literacy skills.  Interactive activities include: poems; letter recognition; animals; comparison and contrast; literary elements; timelines; story maps; and much more. 

Scholastic:Magic School Bus-This site has a variety of resources that can be used to enhance teaching and learning.  There are educational games related to specific topics, guided tours (including tours of the human body, insects, and dinosaurs), a simple science section, a theme index, and a place for teachers and parents to go to gather more resources (Grades 1-6).

Smithsonian Kids-The Smithsonian Institution is not just one museum, but 15 different ones! You can find them all online. At this site, there are several interesting and fun educational activities for kids to try (Grades 2-12).

The Digital Scoop–This site includes various ready-made Kidpsiration templates for all subject areas (Grades K-4).

Time for Kids-Timeforkids.com, the online version of Time for Kids magazine, is the news, homework helper and exploration destination for kids on the Internet. The site keeps you on top of the news and lets you create; learn; get involved; explore; play games; and access tools to help you with your homework.

Tools for Teaching Tolerance-A great Web site that has information about teaching tolerance; activities related to teaching tolerance; online activities and guides; FREE handbooks and kits related to tolerance; and much more.  There are sections specifically designated for teens and kids.  Each of these sections has a variety of activities, and resources related to teaching tolerance in school, at home, and in their community.  There is even a parent section that includes information on how to talk to your kids about tolerance, 10 ways to nurture tolerance, and online resources related to tolerance.  This is a GREAT resource for promoting equity and diversity! 

Visual Dictionary-From Merriam-Webster and QA International, Visual Dictionary Online is an interactive dictionary with an innovative approach that will help students to learn English in a visual and accessible way. From the image to the word and its definition, the Visual Dictionary Online is an all-in-one reference. A quick glance at the index is all it takes to connect words with images. Or students can explore the 15 major themes to access more than 6,000 images and see words like never before. The themes offer a variety of engaging topics. Additional features include a Game of the Week, played by associating words with images, and audio pronunciations spoken by real voices.
