After-school program keeps students learning and having fun
Learning doesn’t stop when the final bell rings in Middletown. Students continue their academics and try their hand at arts and crafts, sports, and table games after the regular school day ends as part of the district’s after-school program.
"Collaboration and communication between the school district and the Recreation Department has allowed us to implement this positive program for students and families," said Christine Brinckerhoff, Assistant Superintendent of the Middletown Recreation & Parks Department.
As part of the program, Middletown teachers provide an hour of academic instruction to students and high-schoolers supervise kids during recreation, crafts, and game time. A free snack and transportation home are also provided.
