Students off to top colleges

In the fall, graduates of the Class of 2010 will head off to various colleges and universities to
pursue a higher education. Look below to read all about Middletown’s top ten students and their future plans!
Michael Di Nunzio has a grade point average of 101.73 and is currently ranked first in the class. Michael is a member of the Middie golf, track, and swimming teams. He is an active member of Key Club, Varsity Club, National Honor Society, Senior Enrichment, Youth in Government, Future Business Leaders of America, Scholastic Bowl, Science Club, Math Team, Ski Club, and the Middletown Athletes Care Club. Michael is also a member of the Hudson Valley Barracudas Swimming Team. Michael is still undecided as to where he will attend college next year, however one thing’s for sure—he’s majoring in engineering.
Kam Yu Cheng has a grade point average of 101.71 and is currently ranked second in the class. She is president of the Science Club and National Art Honor Society. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, Scholastic Bowl, and Math Team. Kam Yu will attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology and major in engineering.
Nushrat Hoque has a grade point average of 101 and is currently ranked third in the class. Nushrat is active in National Honor Society (treasurer), Youth in Government (president), Senior Enrichment, and Student Council (vice president). Nushrat is also an accomplished artist and is on the MHS tennis team. She will attend Bard College on a partial scholarship. She plans to study medicine.
Ava Isaac has a grade point average of 99.31 and is currently ranked fourth in the class. She is a member of the Science Club (treasurer), Youth in Government (secretary), National Honor Society, Prom Committee, and Student Council (secretary). Ava will attend SUNY Geneseo on a full scholarship. She plans to major in chemistry.
Claudia Anzini has a grade point average of 99.26 and is currently ranked fifth in the class. She is an active member of Science Club, Student Council, Academy of Finance, and is the senior class secretary. She will attend RPI and major in chemical engineering.
Henry Chu has a grade point average of 99.19 and is currently ranked sixth in the class. Henry is president of the National Honor Society, a member of the Academy of Information Technology, a member of the Science Club, Scholastic Bowl, Math Team, and Key Club. He is still undecided as to where he will attend college.
Kimberly Allen has a grade point average of 97.1 and is currently ranked seventh in the class. Kimberly plays three sports—cross country, indoor and outdoor track. In school, she is actively involved in numerous extra-curricular activities, including Key Club, National Honor Society, Wind Ensemble, and Ski Club. This fall, she plans to attend Ithaca College and major in physical therapy.
Paul Karasaridis has a grade point average of 96.56 and is ranked eighth in the class. He is an active member of National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, and Varsity Club. Paul is also a member of the MHS tennis and swim teams. He will attend SUNY Albany and major in liberal arts.
Collin Murray has a grade point average of 96.14 and is currently ranked ninth in the class. He is a member of the varsity tennis team, National Honor Society, Key Club, Varsity Club, and Future Business Leaders of America. Collin will attend SUNY Albany and major in accounting.
Sarah Miller has a grade point average of 95.68 and is currently ranked tenth in the class. Sarah is a member of the Art Honor Society and the Student Action League. She is also in the Drama Club and is the Assistant Director of "Epic Proportions." She is still undecided as to where she will attend college.
