Gomez attending leadership conference

Middletown High School sophomore Jonathan Gomez will be attending the Hugh O'Bryan Youth Leadership Conference on June 1-3 in Troy.
Gomez, the sophomore class president, is believed to be the first Middletown student to attend this conference, which will be held on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Gomez already has developed into one of the high school's leaders. He recently won the Rotary Youth Leadership Award, which will send him to a leadership training on June 25 at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh. He will be joined by Middletown students Antonio DeVita, Cindy Fierro and Amber Lofrese.
Jonathan Gomez also received, along with Eleazar Mendoza, the "Character, Courage,, Commitment" award at the Academic Awards banquet.
