Middletown Food
& Nutrition Services Healthy meals equal
healthy students. One of the great things about
Middletown's school meal program is that parents can be
sure their children have an opportunity to eat balanced,
nutritious food for breakfast and lunch.
Students are being offered quality Boar's
Head cold cuts, all white meat chicken filets and
tenders as well as a full-range of whole grain breads,
rolls and wraps as part of our Food Service Enhancement
Plan. According to Food Services Director Kathy Perry,
the plan "offers students higher quality products that
are health conscious."
Students have the option
to choose from several healthy snacks too, including
nonfat yogurt strawberry, blueberry or peach parfaits
with granola as well as healthy snack crisps!
A quick reminder:
Food & Nutrition Services recognizes that young children often
forget or lose their lunch money and need to charge
meals during the school year. Student may charge up to
three lunches. Students who have outstanding charges
will not be allowed to purchase meals or ala carte items
until their balance is paid.
Just so parents are
aware, if your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch your
child also qualifies for free breakfast. Every school
has a breakfast program. For more information, please
contact the Food & Nutrition Services office at
326-1230.
