School budget passes,
one proposition passes

MAY 2007—The
official votes are in. Middletown residents gave a thumbs
up to the 2007-2008 school budget with a vote of 508 yes
votes to 270 no votes. Proposition 1, $100,000 in capital
improvements at the high school, also passed with 410 yes
votes to 263 no votes. Proposition 2, adding a student
member to the Board of Education, was not approved by voters
with a vote of 348 yes votes to 410 no votes.
Linda Knapp was re-elected to
the Board of Education by voters and Dr. Nicholas Mauro was
also elected by residents. The official Board vote tallies
were as follows:
Dr. Nicholas Mauro: 496 votes
Linda Knapp:446 votes
Anthony DiGennaro: 370 votes
