A regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Enlarged City School District of Middletown, New York was held Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at the Board of Education Office, 223 Wisner Avenue, Board President Rose Tobiassen, presiding. 

Present:         Mr. Crescenzo, Mr. Estrada (arrived at 6:15 p.m.), Mr. Geiger,

                        Mrs. Knapp, Dr. Mauro, Mr. Paul (arrived at 6:00 p.m.),

                        Ms. Perkins, Mr. Perrino, Ms. Tobiassen – 9.

Absent:          None.

Others            Kenneth W. Eastwood, Superintendent of Schools

Attending:    Elizabeth McKean, School Business Administrator

                        Richard DelMoro, Director of Secondary Education

                        Dr. McDonough, Director of Elementary Education

                        Selena Fischer, Director for Pupil Personnel & Special Services                          

Ms. Tobiassen called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m.

Mrs. Knapp made a motion, seconded by Mr. Perrino to have an executive session to discuss matters regarding proposed, pending or current litigation. 

Ayes:  Mr. Crescenzo, Mr, Geiger, Mrs. Knapp, Dr. Mauro, Ms. Perkins, Mr. Perrino, Ms. Tobiassen.  – 7.  Noes:  None.  Motion was

unanimously approved.

Public session resumed at 6:55 p.m.

Dr. Mauro made a motion, seconded by Mr. Perrino, to approve the agenda and to include on the agenda, Approval of Settlement Agreement.

Ayes:  Mr. Crescenzo, Mr. Estrada, Mr, Geiger, Dr. Mauro, Mr. Paul, Ms. Perkins, Mr. Perrino, Ms. Tobiassen.  – 8.  

Noes:  Mrs. Knapp – 1.  Motion was declared approved.

Mr. Crescenzo made a motion, seconded by Mr. Estrada, to approve Personnel Memorandum #19.

Ayes:  Mr. Crescenzo, Mr. Estrada, Mr, Geiger, Mrs. Knapp, Dr. Mauro, Mr. Paul, Ms. Perkins, Mr. Perrino, Ms. Tobiassen - 9.  

Noes:  None.  Motion was unanimously approved.

Mr. Perrino made a motion, seconded by Ms. Perkins, to approve  Personnel Memorandum #20.

Ayes:  Mr. Crescenzo, Mr. Estrada, Mr, Geiger, Mrs. Knapp, Dr. Mauro, Mr. Paul, Ms. Perkins, Mr. Perrino, Ms. Tobiassen - 9.  

Noes:  None.  Motion was unanimously approved.

Mr. Paul made a motion, seconded by Mr. Perrino, to approve the  following resolution:

RESOLVED, that a Settlement Agreement and General Release between a former employee and the District, is hereby ratified and approved, and that the President of the Board of Education is authorized to execute same on behalf of the Board.

Ayes:  Mr. Crescenzo, Mr. Estrada, Mrs. Knapp, Mr. Paul, Ms. Perkins, Mr.  Perrino, Ms. Tobiassen - 7.  

Noes:  Mr. Geiger, Dr. Mauro - 2.  Motion was  declared approved.

Ms. Tobiassen announced that the Board would be going into their  Board Retreat to discuss Board Norms 

and Board Goals and Objectives.

There being no further business, at 6:59 p.m. the meeting was adjourned.
