A regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Enlarged City School District of Middletown, New York was held Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Middletown High School, Gardner Avenue Extension, Board President Rose Tobiassen, presiding.

Ms. Tobiassen called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Ms. Perkins made a motion, seconded by Mr. Estrada, to have an executive session for discussions regarding proposed, pending or current litigation.

Dr. McDonough, Mr. Crescenzo and Mr. Estrada led the pledge to the flag.
Ms. Tobiassen requested that it be recorded into the minutes that that invitations were extended to the newly elected board members to attend the meeting although they were unable to attend.
Mr. Crescenzo made a motion, seconded by Mr. Perrino, to amend the agenda as follows: add under Personnel Action Items, Approval of Personnel Memorandum #60, and Approval of Superintendent’s Contract; add Action Item, Approval of Change Orders – Middletown High School, 2006 Capital Project; add Action Item, Approval of Resolution – Contract for Excellence; add under Presentations E) Discussion – 2008-2009 Calendar; add Item VII) Roundtable.

Student musical presentations were conducted and cartooning artworks students were recognized.

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education authorize its attorneys to investigate possible grounds for legal action against all appropriate parties in conjunction with the implementations of the Contract for Excellence Program and the use of Foundation Aid to acquire shared services through BOCES, and further authorize its attorneys to commence such action if circumstances warrant.
