MIDDLETOWN, NEW YORK

SPECIAL MEETING

AUGUST 26, 2004

 

A special meeting of the Board of Education of the Enlarged City School District of Middletown, New York was held Thursday, August 26, 2004, at the Board of Education Office, 223 Wisner Avenue, Board President Vincent Crescenzo, presiding. 

Present: Mr. Estrada, Mrs. Knapp, Mr. Perrino, Ms. Tobiassen, 

Mr. Crescenzo – 5.

Absent: Dr. Best, Mr. Geiger, Mrs. Botti – 3.

Others Present: Kenneth W. Eastwood, Superintendent of Schools
                              Ellen Kaplan, Director of Personnel Services

Mr. Crescenzo called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Estrada made a motion, seconded by Mr. Perrino, to have an executive session to discuss specific personnel issues. Motion was unanimously approved.

Public session resumed at 6:40 p.m. Mr. Crescenzo led the pledge to the flag.

Ms. Tobiassen made a motion, seconded by Mr. Estrada to amend Personnel Memorandum # 5 to remove the title of Director of Secondary Education.

Ayes: Estrada, Knapp, Perrino, Tobiassen, Crescenzo – 5. Noes: None. Motion to amend the personnel memorandum was unanimously approved.

Mr. Estrada made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Knapp to approve Personnel Memorandum # 5, as amended.

Ayes: Estrada, Knapp, Perrino, Tobiassen, Crescenzo – 5. Noes: None. Motion was declared approved.

Dr. Eastwood introduced Tracey Sorrentino and Michael Barone, newly appointed House Principals assigned to the High School.

Dr. Eastwood stated that in addition to the two permanent House Principals, Patricia Simmons and Lana Moravas would be serving as temporary interim House Principals. 

There being no further business, at 6:55 p.m., Mrs. Knapp made a motion, seconded by Mr. Perrino, to close the special meeting. Motion was unanimously approved.
